New for 2019: Crosslands Seminary Children’s and Youth Ministry Track

Crosslands is delighted to announce that our Seminary programme is being extended to include specialist training for leaders of Children’s and Youth Ministry.

The Crosslands Seminary programme is now well established as a flexible, non-residential theological training option for men and women right around the UK, Europe and the 10:40 window.  Our students are active in a wide variety of roles, including church planters, trainee pastors, in secular roles, or leading specialist ministries in their local church.

Deep Biblical, Doctrine, Pastoral and Missional knowledge and skills are as essential in leading Children’s or Youth Ministry as in any other area of ministry leadership, but full time residential training is seldom practical or affordable.  It makes sense, then, to take a well established non-residential Seminary course and tailor it especially for those in Children’s and Youth Ministry, allowing them to study alongside everyday ministry.

The Crosslands CYM track has been created around the same core Seminary curriculum, but with specifically designed readings, assignment choices and practical modules for those working with Children and Young People.

Crosslands students participating in the CYM track will be supported and overseen by Mel Lacy of Growing Young Disciples.  Mel is a leading specialist in Children’s and Youth Ministry and a faculty member of Oak Hill College. Mel said, “I am so delighted to be partnering with Crosslands to create and deliver this programme.  To be able to tap into their established programme, strong faculty and years of experience in delivering in-context training is an amazing opportunity. My passion for growing young disciples includes a desire to  equip those in kids’ and youth ministry with deep theological understanding, but in a way that is immediately relevant and applicable. The Crosslands Seminary programme already does this well; being able to integrate my own knowledge of kids and youth ministry into that is very exciting”.
