Crosslands Seminary course | Crosslands Certificate

The Crosslands Seminary course is designed for assistant leaders, aspiring church planters, apprentices and even those in ministry wanting to ‘top-up’ their training.  It aims to give you a good understanding of key theological concepts with their pastoral and missional implications to equip current and future leaders for life-long ministry.

Students choose from a 1 to 3-year unaccredited Crosslands Certificate or a 4-year MA in Christian Ministry.

Find out more about the accredited option here.  Applications close on 22nd June 2018.

How it works:

Crosslands is a new kind of entity, which we call a flexicademy™, not residential training nor pure distance learning, but flexible learning and rigorous training for students where they live and minister.  The course has five key elements:

Mentoring in your local church
– all students should be involved with a local church and study with the active support of the local leadership. A leader who knows you will have to confirm this as part of your application and ongoing study.

Independent study
– it takes a minimum of 10 hour’s study to cover the English-only online material and set texts each week, including weekly contribution to an online discussion forum, moderated by your tutor.

Seminar days
– each module in the year builds towards an assignment which you present and discuss with your peers in five whole-day seminars run by a Crosslands tutor near to you. This is available in English or French.

Pastoral conference
– at the mid-point of the year, you will meet all the students at your hub for a weekend pastoral conference which focuses on practical application of the Pastoral module.

Intensive residentials
– you gather for a week in the Autumn and the Summer for fellowship with your peers, introductions and summaries of modules, peer-review activities and interaction with current theological questions.  Residentials are currently held in the UK's Peak District and just south of Dublin.

What you study:

The unaccredited option consists only of the core three-year rolling programme (Years A, B and C) with YrA2B (Dynamics of Pastoral Care) module replacing YrA2a (Mentored Internship). Students may join for one, two or three years.
Successful students leave with a Crosslands Certificate.  Note that this course requires some work for the student's Supporter in the applied modules.

What it costs:

Unaccredited option: £2,500 (€2.900)/student/yr over 1 to 3 yrs
A £250 (€300) deposit with your application and £1,125 (€1.300) instalments by 1st September 2018 and 1st February 2019.

Your fees cover everything for the year except travel to the Pastoral Conference, travel to Residentials, or any set texts you choose to buy.
