Crosslands provides excellent in-context theological training and resources for churches and church leaders in the UK, Europe and 10:40 window to:
- Make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ;

- Nurture a culture of multiplication and church planting; and
- Invest in the next generation of missionary theologians.
Ultimately, the team at Crosslands are passionate to see the cross of Christ reigning over these lands and our students crossing-lands for the gospel.

Crosslands stands in the traditions of historic evangelical confessionalism.
We believe in:
The inspiration, inerrancy and infallibility of God's word, the Bible, as originally given. The holy scripture is both vital and clear, and all Christians must submit to its supreme authority and sufficiency, both individually and corporately, in every matter of belief and conduct.
The existence of one eternal and immutable God, the Holy Trinity, Creator and Lord of the universe who, in the unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – three Persons who are the same in substance, and equal in power and glory – governs all things according to his will, and is accomplishing his purposes in the world and in the church.
The inherent value of all human beings – made by God in his own image – and their sinfulness and guilt since the fall of Adam. This has rendered them subject to God's wrath and condemnation, and has resulted in their alienation from him, from one another and from his creation.
The essential, absolute and eternal deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; his conception by Mary of the Holy Spirit; his virgin birth; his real but sinless humanity; his voluntary humiliation and obedience, culminating in his death as a sacrifice for sin; his bodily resurrection from the dead on the third day; his ascension into heaven; his continuing ministry as Prophet, Priest and King; and his coming again in power and glory.
Salvation from the guilt, penalty and all consequences of sin solely through the work of Jesus Christ – his perfect obedience, penal substitutionary death, bodily resurrection and exaltation as Lord. He alone is truly God and truly man, and therefore the only mediator between God and humanity, uniquely able to save completely those who come to God through him. There is salvation through no other person, creed, process or power.
The justification of sinners entirely through the imputation of Christ’s righteousness to them and of the guilt and penalty of their sin to him. It is appropriated by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
The necessity and sufficiency of the work of the Holy Spirit for the individual's new birth to repentance and faith, union with Christ and growth to maturity, and for the church’s continuous renewal in truth, unity, wisdom, faith, holiness, love, power and mission.
The universal church, the body of which Christ is the head, to which all God's people belong. Its existence reveals God's ultimate purpose to bring everything together under Christ. It is made visible both in local congregations and in the wider communion of those who profess the true faith. It comprises a people called to declare the praise of the God who saved them, to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints, and to proclaim the gracious offer of salvation to those who are lost.
The unity of the body of Christ, as expressed within and between local churches by mutual love, care, encouragement and corporate action. True fellowship between churches exists only where they are faithful to the apostolic gospel.
The personal and visible return in glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, in order to raise the dead and bring salvation and judgment to final completion. He will grant eternal life to those who have believed the gospel, and consign those who have not to everlasting punishment in hell. God will then fully establish his kingdom in new heavens and a new earth, from which evil and evildoers, suffering and death will be excluded, and in which he will be glorified forever.
Flexible short courses for church members, small group leaders, interns and elders who want to keep being equipped for discipleship and ministry.
An in-depth curriculum for church planters, aspiring church leaders, specialist ministry leaders or those who simply want to dig deeper theologically.
There are many good theological institutions in the UK and parts of Europe already; we praise God for the work that they do.
However, we are distinctive from existing organisations in three main ways – the blend of these distinctives are what make us a Flexicademy™, a new kind of organisation that offers flexible learning and rigorous training.
We offer in-context training where you live, work or minister. Our modern blended-learning techniques train you in partnership with your local church. It’s the quality of residential training at the price of distance-learning courses with the benefits of learning in discussion with peers whilst remaining in your local community. If you’re looking for pure residential theological education, our friends and colleagues at Oak Hill College do this excellently.
We stand firmly in the traditions of historic evangelicalism and want God’s word to shape your training and life so that you love Jesus more. Reflecting the missions and values of our parent organisations, Acts 29 and Oak Hill College, we are Reformational, Evangelical, Complementarian and Missional. See Beliefs for more details.
Crosslands may have started life in the UK, but we don’t want to stop there. We recognise the need for theological education in Europe and beyond into the 10:40 window. We are working hard to establish Crosslands hubs where our students are and in the languages that they speak, so that we might contribute to seeing the cross of Christ reigning over the lands of Europe and the 10:40 window where Jesus is neither named nor known.
We want you to experience Crosslands training and resources as part of a community who learn theology together, supporting each other even after their course has finished, closely linked with our wider Acts 29 and Oak Hill networks.
A learning community
We want participation in Crosslands to be an introduction to a learning community of disciples of Jesus Christ. Therefore, engage in Crosslands with a spirit of generous collaboration rather than competition in which grace shapes all our interactions.
A theological community
Crosslands is evangelical, reformational, complementarian and missional with a strong emphasis on biblical theology. We do not take an official stance on other issues like church governance, baptism, charismatic issues and so on. If you study with us, we will encourage you to explore different perspectives on these debates with tutors or peers. Please reflect a generosity of spirit on these issues while pursuing rigorous theological reflection and debate.
A supportive community
The relationships you form with fellow students are valuable. Whatever course you take, use conference days, discussion groups, seminar days, pastoral conferences or residentials to have fun, share your struggles, encourage one another and pray together.
An ongoing community
During your time at Crosslands, we expect that you will build long-term friendships that will provide encouragement and partnership in your future ministry. In fact, many seminary-level students continue to meet to support each other in a more formalised fashion after graduating.
A wider community
We encourage you to connect with our partners during your time with Crosslands and in your ministry:
- for church planters, Acts 29 Europe and Acts 29 Emerging Regions provide networks of fellow practitioners who seek to reach the unreached across our continents; and
- for those seeking further theological or academic study, Oak Hill Theological College offers rigorous residential courses in London, UK.
Our passion to see the cross of Christ reigning over these lands and our students crossing-lands for the gospel drives our aims for all our training and resources. These do not replace our doctrinal beliefs but are statements of how we intend to discharge Christian ministry and interact with you if you study with us.
